For nearly a decade, Kate (McDermott) Paredes consulted for a multitude of constructs, from infant startups to major international brands, from her East Harlem apartment. As a recognized digital authority, brand builder and 'virtual voice' for over a dozen top-tier companies, Kate's strictly work-from-home experience led her to a stark conclusion— there are very few valuable resources for the ever-growing entrepreneur and at-home workforce.
In the fall of 2017, she and city-native husband Erick, expatriated Manhattan and moved to Kate's central Pennsylvania hometown to begin a new adventure. Both working from home, and renovating an 1870's Victorian, they've embarked into a great unknown; quite literally, creating 'new walls.' From that leap, this relatable resource for the new normal in entrepreneurship and remote work took flight.
TNW is meant to motivate through expert insight, curation and a new perspective on independent working— following your bliss, finding autonomy and not letting the traditional work-life paradigm besiege you. After years of architecting others' digital dreams, Kate is thrilled for the opportunity to share her sought-after expertise through TNW and the companion Crackerjack Collective interview series.
